Key word is qualified.. If you search any of the leading search engines for the phrase “FREE MLM leads” you are bound to find dozens of MLM lead generation corporations offering thousands of leads to the network marketer.
The method of getting these leads is simple . All you have to do is complete a short form with your name and an e-mail address and you are sent a link where you can download your list.
But hold on there killer! What are you really getting?
Though you are probably excited to get your new leads, are you sure you’re going to get qualified leads? More than likely not! 99% of these leads are not your target market, and you may even find your own name on the list!
Free MLM Leads – You Get What You Pay For!
Qualified FREE MLM leads are worth its weight in gold mulled over, is a corporation truly going to give away such valuable information as the name of someone that is actively intending to start their own business?
Giving away such a valuable lead does not make any sense! Does it?

Yes, you do need to be a professional and not be annoying when finding free leads. You need to have that posture to create an influence in others.

About a month ago I got a pitch from a guy through my main email address and I sent him a reply letting him know that he needs to learn more about permission marketing before spamming me with his direct sales offer.
The poor guy was devastated because he had “bought” some leads from a company and my email address was on that list as someone who supposedly opted in for information about a home based business. Now for one thing, I’ve been doing this for five years now so I know for a fact I never opted into any list because he was using my main email address and I never sign up for anything using that one. I do that for just this reason alone.
He apologized profusely and was rather embarrassed but he got a quick lesson from me about the right way to generate leads which is exactly what you’re sharing here. To say the least, I got me an opt-in due to that conversation so not all was lost.
Great tips and hope others will take advantage of the wonderful information you have to share. I have no doubt they can all benefit from it.

April you are a seasoned businesswoman and these tips are right on target. Nothing is free unless you work for it. I have generated lots of people on my list from Social Media Platforms, hey that’s my thing. But reading this post reminds me of a Network Marketing company I was in a few years ago. My upline and I did joint ventures in trade shows, parties, etc. Then he made a big mistake buying leads from the company. He knew nothing about internet marketing and swore these were great leads. After thousands of dollars he realized these were just people the company couldn’t sell. Hmmmm
Also I believe you get what you pay for and need trusted people who will trade lists with you if you want to do the free game.
But for me, personally, It is all about social media.

I went through my “purchasing leads” phase a few years ago and what a monumental waste of money. Most of these people had no idea why I was calling or how they even got on my list of people to call. Sure knocked down my self esteem a few pegs!
Now, I primarily use Facebook to start making connections and foster relationships which sometimes results in our working together. It’s a far more satisfying way to go about my business.

Nuthin’ is free! Free stuff takes time and a lot of work. I bet out of those 100 “free” leads you may get 1 good one if you’re lucky but I bet you have to work to convince! I’m completely on the value train. Gone are the days that the salesman could show up at your door on a Saturday and pressure you into buying a vacuum. Nowadays we have to court and convince people to like us first, trust us next and do business with us last!

Great post, Nicky. Offering something of value is huge. I’ve always told people that you get what you pay for. There really is no such thing as a free lead, especially if it takes you “time” to generate those leads. I agree with you about Attraction Marketing and think that is the best way to go if you are using the blogging or content method.
But I also believe that direct response marketing via direct mail works great, if you have something to sell, and can then back-end people with your business opportunity.

Blog commenting ROCKS! I didn’t do it for my first blog in 2009, and it took something like 6 months just to get 10 RSS subscribers. I have been intentionally building traffic to my newest blog via blog commenting, and I already have 10 RSS subscribers (after about 6 weeks), and have had not an unbelievable number of visitors, but many more than I ever had during the first month of any of my other blogs.
Understand I’ve only been commenting on 5 blogs per day, and not been completely consistent with that.
Now I just need to get my opt-in in place…

Getting leads has always been taught in such a way as to encourage getting volume versus quality. I think this comes from the mindset of the more people you get in front of your offer the better chances you have of getting a sale. But I have seen (as well as many of today’s top marketers online) that quality targeted leads from less traffic is the way to go.

Great blog post April. When I first found out about attraction marketing, I had a HUGE paradigm shift. Not only did I stop calling lousy leads that were generated by someone else, I also started bringing value to the marketing place to attract people to me. In doing that consistently, not only did my business flourish like never before, but I learned the valuable lesson that putting others before my own business in turn actually helped more and made me feel better about what I was doing
