I am very excited about this years Top 50 MLM Blogs contest by That MLM Beat and sponsored by MLSP. The founder of That MLM Beat,  George Fourie has for the third year in a row put something truly spectacular for us bloggers and it is truly a honor to be apart of it.

On my last post I invited you to come and be apart of the Top 50 MLM Blogs contest and in this post I want to urge you to take action.  If your a Blogger you want your Blog to be found right? Well I know I do and that was part of the reason I submitted my blog. I am already seeing a huge spike in traffic and people are really blessing me with their votes which of course I am so thankful for.

How did April Marie get her start in Blogging?

 

Well when I got started Online in June of last year I was completely overwhelmed and had no idea even what a Blog was. I was also still on Myspace with no idea about Facebook. I struggled my first few months and often times felt like quitting because I was so confused and over whelmed. I am so glad I didn’t quit now looking back because I would not be where I am today if I did.

 

So finally, things started to click after a couple of months of pulling my hair out. I was reading a book called Crush it by Gary Vaynerchuk and ultimately was completely blown away by all of the information that was shared about social media and branding.

 

So I started making video’s about anything and everything almost every day. I did this for 60 days and what was interesting was I became very popular on Facebook because I interacted with my friends in the video’s. I would give shout outs and mention friends that inspired me.

 

Well I some how managed to attract a huge crowd on Facebook and became quite popular .  I did not have a blog at this time and really did not even understand what it was. It was a very good friend of mine and now partner Nate Holland that turned me on to blogging.  Nate Holland is the owner and founder of Social Media Stardom and when we met he was just getting his start with that business but had several very successful business’  already online.

 

It’s kind of funny but about a month before I actually met Nate  I found his blog and had opted into his list. Boy was I amazed by him and his marketing style.

 

Well what happened was because my videos on Facebook were going viral he saw one of them and left a comment then added me as a friend. I was so excited because I knew exactly who he was and the fact he was taking interest in me and offering me help really excited me.

 

You see I did not have a mentor Online so everything I was doing at the time was self taught.. I just kept persisting and growing. When Nate and I met we hit it off right off the bat and he really brought light onto what I was doing and suggested I start blogging. So that’s what I did.  I did the blog set up and training in MLSP and started rockin it out.

 

Blogging really came naturally to me because I was pretty much already doing it when I was posting video’s on Youtube. I have focused a lot of my blogging efforts on teaching other’s lead generation strategies through social media and blogging.

My greatest accomplishments are because of blogging and social media.

 

Things really started rocking and rolling for me in December of 2010 when I signed up 12 people to MLSP in a month. Before that I only had 4 in my first 6 months of using the system. So it was a huge difference for me.  I did this consistently for about 3 months and then something even better happened. I became the number 1 recruiter in my 16 year old company for the month of February.

 

The following month I advanced in rank and have not stopped since. I absolutely love the Network Marketing industry and for me it’s really about helping others. I love sharing the information I do because I know it is really helping people. I get great satisfaction in that. It’s so funny but I really do not fret about people joining my business any more because I know that if I help enough people get what they want I will get what I want.

 

I am currently full time in my business and I owe a lot of my success to MLSP the system really does change lives and I am so happy that MLSP is sponsoring the Top 50 MLM Blogs contest this year. Bloggers work really hard and put a  lot of brain power into the content they share. That is why this contest is important for many because it’s rewarding and they deserve recognition for their efforts.

 

I was not a over night success with Blogging and just like with anything it took time to get it up and running. I see many fail at marketing because they don’t give it enough time. People are always looking for the short cuts and I am one of those people. But I knew that I really ha to keep my eyes on my goals and give it a good year before I judged it.

 

This past year has been amazing and it’s so hard to believe we are wrapping up 2011 already. This past summer I place 5th in the U.S for my Network Marketing Companies incentive trip to Los Cabos, Mexico.  Which as a blast!! Then in September I was inducted in the Online Marketers Hall of Fame with some of the biggest names in the industry. Holy cow was that a real treat!
